The History of Xavier Lacrosse, by Coach Strietmann.        16-APR-08

Xavier Women had a team in the mid 1990's but it was desanctioned by the University. All we know is that when we applied to the WCLL (Womens Collegiate Lacrosse League) in October, 2007, a former female lacrosse player, now on the Board of the WCLL, fondly recounted that when she was playing, XU was always... "a fun team to be partying with". We extrapolate that is why we had to start from scratch in 2005. Special Thanks are owed to Rachel Crutcher and Hope Orono for pushing the wheel uphill, enduring, and putting in long hours recruiting, administrating and encouraging students to play lacrosse. Simply, the team exists, because of their efforts.  We are where we are, because of the hours on and off the field put in by our 2008 Team. Next year, will be huge! We can feel it.
